After Roseanne's (Roseanne Barr) death, the Conners are forced to face the struggles of everyday life without the woman that always kept the family glued together. In Season 1, Dan (John Goodman) wants to find someone to blame for his wife's death, David (Johnny Galecki) and Darlene (Sara Gilbert) can't seem to see eye to eye on raising their children, Becky (Lecy Goranson) struggles with alcoholism, DJ (Michael Fishman) has to adjust having Geena (Maya Lynne Robinson) back from Afghanistan, and Jackie (Laurie Metcalf) reluctantly takes on a motherly role towards her nieces and nephew. Through parenting issues, job-related problems, pregnancies and financial instability, the whole gang will learn that love and support can overcome anything.
